The sister club to Soho House in London, a private members' club with a keen following among the media, art and film world, this family-frienfly deluxe country house set in the Somerset countryside is a welcome retreat from the city, with all of the modern luxury facilities one could need.

Location

Babington is located near Frome in Somerset 10 miles south of Bath. There are records of people living on the Babington land dating from the 12th Century. The Main House is Grade II listed early Georgian, built in mellow Bath stone with a tile roof.

Accommodation

All of the individually designed 28 rooms, including five two bedroom family suites in the Stable Block are artily decorated with contemporary minimalist furnishings, solid oak floors, plain walls and modern, often Italian-designed furniture, offering a unique and contemporary mix of comfort and technology with integrated plasma screen TVs, DVD players, stereos, telephones and fast internet access.

Facilities

Babington has its very own in-house cinema showing pre-release screenings, old favourites, themed festivals and children's films. The grounds are extensive and include a number of walks, tennis courts (grass and hard courts), a cricket pitch, all-weather and grass five-a-side football pitches and many quiet corners for reading and lazing about. For the energetic, there is off site ballooning, golf, rock climbing, horse riding and shooting. The Cow Shed spa features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, four treatment rooms as well as a Yurt, a Mongolian tent & two native American Indian Tipis, in peaceful surroundings by the lake. Handmade Cowshed products can be found in each bedroom in the House made with a herbal infusion of plants and flowers from the organic Walled Garden.
