Overview

Delenia, the estate, is named after a variety of wild cedar which grows locally. It is suitable for both private individuals or for corporate events and is of particular interest during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, not least due to its close proximity to the Olympic rowing events, in the Marathon Lake area.

Location

This is a very high-end retreat on a 5.5 acre estate situated on the island of Evia, and is easily accessible from Athens airport (total journey time approx 2 hrs). Evia, which is Greece ’s second largest island, is unique in that it is easily accessible (61 km from the centre of Athens ) yet largely undiscovered by foreign tourists. It is accessible via ferry boat (40 mins trip) or by the Chalkida bridge.

Accommodation

Delenia sleeps between 10-13 people, has a private beach, a swimming pool and domestic staff. The rustic, predominantly timber and stone architecture is complimented by spacious terracing and decking, providing ample outdoor living areas. There are five double bedrooms - all of which are en-suite, with desks, open fires and balconies - two kitchens, two living rooms, and a dining room. These areas are divided into three separate, but adjacent, buildings, allowing occupants more privacy if they desire it. The largest of these building consists of the main kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as one bedroom. The master bedroom is situated in another building, and it has an adjacent lounge/library, as well as a walk-in wardrobe. There is also a fully equipped office, with phone, fax and internet access. The other three bedrooms are situated in the third building. There is under-floor heating as well as central heating.

Facilities

Delenia lies on the Aegean Sea and has a private rocky beach as well as a salt-water swimming pool. There is a helipad, a vineyard, a barn, a large woodwork studio and an aviary which includes geese, parrots, turkeys and free range chicken producing fresh eggs daily. There are various pergolas, a terrace overlooking the swimming pool, two large outdoor tables for al fresco dining, a built-in grill/barbeque and an outdoor, giant chess set. There is a private cook, cleaner and gardener. Pets are welcome.
