Overview

The Due Torri Hotel is housed in a fourteenth century palazzo (known as dell'Aquila), formerly owned by the Scaligeri family. Over the last few years the building has undergone an intensive renovation programme involving both the bedrooms and other areas of the hotel. Stylish and refined, the hotel justly enjoys an international reputation on account of the quality of its service and the beauty of its decor.

Location

The Due Torri Hotel Baglioni is located in Verona’s historic centre next to the Church of Santa Anastasia, just a stone’s throw from Juliet’s famous balcony, Piazza Bra, and world-renowned Arena.

Accommodation

The 90 rooms, including the suites, are spacious and lavishly furnished with magnificent antique pieces and fitted with the most modern equipment.

History

In 1674 it became an inn and, in 1882, was converted into the Grand Hotel Imperiale. In addition to hosting a series of famous people (including Amadeus Mozart, Archduke Maximillian of Austria, the King of Naples Ferdinand IV, Wolfgang Goethe, Carlo IV King of Spain, the Austrian Emperors Franz I and Franz Joseph, and Giuseppe Garibaldi) it also served as a setting for historic events such as the coronation of the exiled Louis XVII by the French, and the signing of the Peace Treaty of Villafranca, between Napoleon III, Vittorio Emanuele II, Archduke Ranieri and Radetzky.
