Overview

Farlam Hall is situated in one of the most unspoilt and sparsely populated areas in England - a haven from the rush of modem life. Set in 12 acres of mature gardens and paddocks with an ornamental lake and stream, the manor of Farlam is written about as far back as 1428, and Farlam Hall has been owned and run by the Quinion and Stevenson families since June 1975.

Location

Farlam Hall is situated 12.5 miles South East of Carlisle on the A689 Brampton to Alston road. Hadrian's Wall passes only 4 miles to the North of the house with all of the major sites within 20 miles. Vindolanda is one of the worlds' most spectacular Roman Sites with finds that all leading museums world-wide long to acquire. There are 3 excellent golf course within 7 miles, antique shops, woollen mills specialising in cashmere and miles and miles of walks. Due to the varied landscape there are walks through wooded valleys, on hill tops or through gentle farm land and in most places guests will hardly meet another soul.

Accommodation

There are 3 different sizes of bedroom at 3 different rates. The quality is the same in each it is purely the size that dictates the contents of each room. 12 double/twins all with private bathroom. 2 are on the ground floor one of which is a four poster bedroom with only a bathroom - no shower and the other a twin. 1 is located in a stable conversion a few moments walk from the hotel.
