Luxury Hotels / Great Eastern Hotel

Overview

Hailed by the press as "the most glamorous spot in the City", three years and £70 million were spent painstakingly refurbishing the Great Eastern Hotel, a landmark building from the golden age of steam railways. Many of the original architectural features have been restored, whilst introducing a bold, strong visual identity, with impressive architecture and design combined with comfortable and stylish surroundings. With four restaurants, four bars, and 24-hour room service, no other hotel in London offers such a variety of surroundings in which to relax and recharge.

Location

Adjacent to Liverpool Street Station, the Great Eastern Hotel stands in the heart of London's business district, but is also a short walk from the bustling East End, home to a thriving cluster of stylish shops, markets, art galleries and restaurants.

Accommodation

Each of the rooms and suites is unique, but all of them are light and spacious, and easy on the eye. Whilst the modern upper floors have a contemporary loft-style feel (light colour schemes, porthole windows etc) and the lower floors retain certain elements of their Victorian heritage (high ceilings, wide open windows and dark panelling), all rooms have a high standard of luxury and comfort. Facilities and features in all rooms include Frette linen sheets, two-line telephones, conference calling, broadband, fax, modem and ISDN lines. Each room is also equipped with CD- and DVD-players, with libraries of discs available from Guest Relations. There is also an in-room safe, air-conditioning, a personal bar and 24-hour room service.

Facilities

The Great Eastern Hotel offers an exceptional variety of restaurants, bars, and facilities for guests and visitors alike. The fitness and treatment centre, Train, has a range of cardiovascular equipment and resistance weights. Staff can provide personal trainers and fitness advice, as well as classes in yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates, and aromatherapy and relaxation treatments. The hotel's signature restaurant, Aurora, is one of capital's more magnificent dining rooms. The interior is grand and dramatic with a huge stained-glass dome, seating 100 in well-spaced, luxurious comfort. For lovers of oysters and crustacea, fish and champagne, The Fishmarket & Champagne Bar offers the finest, freshest seafood.
