Overview

An exclusive secluded hideaway, Jumby Bay is noted for its landscape lush with rare tropical flowers, stately palm trees and abundant foliage and is known worldwide for providing discerning travelers with world-class service and distinguished amenities.

Location

Jumby Bay Island is a 300-acre private enclave just two miles north of Antigua. A haven for naturalists, the island plays host to a variety of wildlife including sheep, the White Egret, and the Blue Pelican. Pasture Beach, on the island's windward side, is a protected nesting site of the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle.

Facilities

The luxurious hideaway features 39 suites, and 11 two-bedroom luxury villas with private plunge pools. The island also has several spacious private manor houses for rent. Luxury villas are equipped with satellite television, personal computers with Internet access, microwave oven, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and four-seater golf cart. 24-hour concierge is always on hand to facilitate any request.

History

An ancient coral reef first discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493 and claimed by the British in 1632, Jumby Bay Island takes its name from -jumbie," Antiguan colloquial for -playful spirit." Inspired by the sands of Jumby Bay Island, quiet beiges and cream blend together with the attenuated lines of British Colonial furnishings for an understated look that embodies residential sophistication.
