The privately owned Lake Pleasant Hotel & Spa is built on the edge of one of the few natural freshwater lakes in the southern hemisphere.

Lake Pleasant Hotel has 30 luxury rooms all with a patio - 29 with direct access onto the indigenous landscaped garden - 4 duplex suites and two manor suites with large balconies overlooking the lake.

Set in the heart of the Garden Route, home to many bird species, the breathtaking beaches are close by, and the adjacent Goukamma Nature and Marine Reserve offers a scenic wonderland. The hotel's facilities are superb catering for both indoor and outdoor activities. Guests can relax in the library lounge filled with a selection of interesting and diverse books whilst sipping tea in front of the fireplace, make an appointment at the Wellness Centre and spend the day being pampered by professional staff, or let the hotel staff arrange a tailor-made tour of the area for those requiring some outside entertainment.

The Spa

The Wellness Centre has an indoor heated spa pool, steam and sauna rooms, a Vichy shower and a hydrotherapy bath. Therapies range from a firm Swedish massage and an eclectic Jamu relaxing massage to the more exotic and revitalising Bali Spa rituals. These rituals incorporate the Javanese Lulur - a sensuous body ritual that exfoliates, polishes and pampers - the Volcanic Earth Ritual - a purifying and refreshing ritual that purifies and cools the body.
