Overview

Sidney’s has two dining areas: one at ground level with high ceilings and large windows, the other is the lower Studio with low ceilings and a cosy, private feel. The interior is vibrant and modern with crimson red and Cadbury’s purple walls, polished wood floors, beach tables, chairs and bar with brushed stainless steel. The interior is given way to continuously changing art exhibitions.

Location

Sidney’s is located in the pretty, seaside village of Tynemouth , 10 miles East of Newcastle upon Tyne and is popular for casual dining as well as for special occasions. It’s a few minutes from Tynemouth Station travelling by Metro. Sidney 's is open for lunch and dinner everyday except Sunday.

Award Winning Cuisine

Since opening in 1999 Sidney's has been awarded ONE AA ROSETTE, a MICHELIN BIB GOURMAND and is also featured in the Which? Good Food and the Harden's Guides. The restaurant has won several awards including North Tyneside’s Best Restaurant, North Tyneside Small Business of the Year and Best PR Campaign demonstrating their commitment to serving the very best food and wine. The style of cooking is globally inspired and the menu features influences from across the world including South East Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America and Europe. They are also well known for a good selection of vegetarian and seafood dishes.

Wine List

Whilst being neat and compact the wine list has a good balance of old and new world wines with and was recently voted as one of the top twenty best wine lists in the UK by Restaurant Magazine. The wine list was also a finalist in the Harpers 2002 wine list competition.
