Overview

Whatley Manor opened this summer after two and a half years of restoration and renovation drawing on creative talent from around the world. Aimed at a sophisticated, internationally travelled clientele, the vision has been to create a hotel that is a destination in its own right, a hotel with a luxurious yet understated ambiance and a new style of hosted service.

Location

Whatley Manor is a Grade II listed Cotswold manor house tucked in the Wiltshire countryside near Malmesbury and 20 miles north of Bath. The hotel is conveniently located a few miles north of Junction 17 on the M4 and is only two hours from central London and one and a quarter hours from Heathrow.

Accommodation and Services

Set within 12 acres of timeless English gardens, the hotel has just 15 rooms and eight suites, all individually decorated in an eclectic mix, both contemporary and classic with an overriding aura of style. Limestone floors, oak panelling, hand made Persian rungs, bespoke hand made French wall papers, suede lined walls and the very latest in sound & vision systems. There are two restaurants giving a choice of formal or informal dining experience, a boardroom, a private cinema and a spa.

The Spa

The spa, Aquarias is one of the most sophisticated spa experiences in the UK. Based on the European bathing culture, it is a true spa complete with tepidarium, a sequence of thermal cabins, one of the largest hydrotherapy pools in the country, a VIP suite for couples seeking that extra seclusion and a wave dream sensory room. Treatments are by renowned Swiss La Prairie and Aquarias is one of only seven La Prairie flagship spas worldwide. These are found in only the most exclusive hotels around the globe. There are no day members and no children. Aquarias is open to hotel guests and a very limited membership to preserve its supremely relaxed atmosphere. Membership is included for the duration of the stay.
